Police and the Eastern Cape Liquor Board (ECLB) have closed down two illegal breweries that produce a deadly alcoholic concoction, known as Mtshovalale, in Makhanda on Tuesday.
The Western Cape government is working on updating its laws around the sale of alcohol, with alcohol abuse closely tied to violent crimes in the province.
